Morningstar.com Training for Staff

As you may have heard, Morningstar.com Library Edition has been purchased for libraries in the Capital Area Library District. Cumberland County Library System is in the process of getting IP addresses authenticated, and then we will be ready to roll, but there is a lot to learn about this database before most of us will be comfortable using it with the public.

At the February CSAT/LSA meeting, each library was handed a CD with training materials, recorded training sessions, PR materials (logos, posters, table tents, etc.), cheat sheets and more. All staff members are welcome to look that information over to get started.
  • A link to Morningstar is on the LSA Manual page of the CCLS Staff Intranet.
  • Links to the material on the CD (except the recorded trainings) are on the Staff Resources page of the Intranet.
There are two trainings which will be offered by the District using live, online communication tools. Please look for announcement of these trainings from Carrie Haverman (I will forward it to TAT members, and add it to this blog to make sure everyone learns about it.)

They are scheduled for:

  • Wednesday, April 4 at ESA (10:00 AM in the Gates Lab)
  • Wednesday, April 18 at CADM (1:30 PM in the Computer Training Lab)

Mark your calendars now, and share these dates with Reference staff at your library who may be interested in attending.
